SKIN NEEDLING

The most popular anti-ageing non-surgical treatment aimed at tightening, lifting and rejuvenating skin.

For Smooth, Bright, Youthful Skin

YOUR SKIN IS YOUR BIGGEST ASSET.

ITS TIME TO INVEST IN IT.

WHAT IS SKIN NEEDLING?

Skin Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is one of the most powerful skin treatments to rejuvenate, repair and reset your skin – naturally.

It targets a whole range of skin concerns. From Acne to ageing, scarring to pigmentation, its amazing for shrinking pore size and improving skin elasticity.

One microneedling treatment can increase your collagen production by up to 400% – more than you would naturally make in a whole year.

Collagen is what keeps your skin firm, smooth, tight and youthful. It’s the fullness that keeps our skin from having that “deflated” look.
We notice the decline start in our mid 20s and roughly lose 1% every year- thats 10% every 10 years, and this is when we start to notice the crepiness, fine lines, sagging, dullness and texture changes.

How does skin needling work?

It works by using tiny, medical-grade needles to create micro-injuries that trigger your body’s natural healing process, increasing collagen and elastin production.
Skin needling kick starts our natural would healing response which results in the production of new collagen, stimulating the flow of nutrients and increasing oxygen within the skin.
Skin needling is a safe and approved skin procedure, with incredible benefits and minimal downtime. The only down side to skin needling is you may become addicted!

First Time? You’ll Need to Prep

A month of skin prepping is recommended for first time clients seeing me, as prepping the skin prior will give you the best outcome. When booking a consult, please aim to book for a month prior to booking your first treatment or get in touch to discuss your options.
A well prepped skin creates big “juicy” cells that looks like grapes and are born with the right recipe to create the best cells they can in the cellular production stage.
Un unprepared skin will be lacking in essential components of cell creation resulting in dehydrated shrunken cells which resemble sultanas. This negatively effects the cells function and leads to an unhealthy skin barrier.
Skin prepping requires a month on high quality EFA supplements, Daily spf and a high quality Vitamin A and Vitamin B.

FAQ

How many treatment sessions will I require?

The number of microneedling sessions needed depends on the specific skin concerns you’re addressing, as well as your skin type and how your skin responds to the treatment.

• For Anti ageing and skin rejuvenation (like improving skin texture or reducing fine lines), 3 to 6 sessions are common, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
• For acne scars or more significant skin issues, you might need 6 to 8 sessions or even more, depending on the severity of the scars. These are usually spaced a bit further apart, around 6 weeks.
• For maintenance after the initial series of treatments, you might only need a session every 3 to 6 months.

Does it hurt?

Microneedling can be a little uncomfortable, but it’s generally not considered to be too painful. The high oscilations tricks your brain into thinking it is experiencing a “prickly vibration”. The sensation often depends on factors like the area being treated, the depth of the needles, and your personal pain tolerance. If the microneedling is done at a deeper level (for issues like acne scars or stretch marks), you might feel a little more discomfort, but we work with your pain tolerance. After the procedure, your skin may feel a little sensitive, similar to mild sunburn, for a day or so. Redness and slight swelling are also common but should subside within a few hours to a day.

Is there much down time?

I recommend my clients to avoid being outdoors for the day of and the day after micro needling. Your skin may feel a little tight and pink during this time but avoiding sun exposure is the most important part. I also recommend clients to Refrain from using makeup for the first 2-3 days.

Do I have to prep?

No. Not always. However prepping your skin prior to your course of treatments is important to ensure you have the best results possible. It is vital that your skin barrier is healthy enough to have the treatment done.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Yes, it is a good idea to stop using retinols or vitamin A’s for 3 days prior. SPF is a non-negotiable for the duration of your treatments and preferred to be used daily in the month leading up to your treatment. Drinking 2-3 litres of water daily will improve your results significantly. Actives cannot be used for 5-7 days post treatment. Please wear a hat to your appointment. No injectables for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks post treatment.
